like i think most platform engineers / devops / systems admin kind of people sometimes work with code but almost always on already-existing codebases, and don't generally have to interact with code complexity that much, especially not without an actual dev colleague nearby to take a second look. otoh it feels like architecture design, with maybe an ansible/puppet/terraform PoC, would make more sense (that's what my previous company did, btw)
