Ok, I gave LLMs another try in doing meaningful work in my job. a) the first attempt, indeed gives me a faster first draft than I could have done myself. b) I need around a dozen iterations to get something that is somewhat OK. c) I feel like I am middle-managing an untrustworthy person; or like I am working with a not-too-bright student, who needs everything spelled out three times. Why would I want to do that? 1. I decided to NOT go into middle management (actually I used to be senior management - and some would argue that I still am, so there's that). So using AI does not appeal at all on that front. If one is not middle management, one may get something out of having a sycophantic liar as a report. 2. I'd rather spend the time with an actual student, who will take something away from the interaction even after the context window runs out. #ai #llm #higherEducation
