I've tried Lubuntu + Fedora on my 2017 MacBook Air.
Lubuntu: awesome resource usage - very performant and fast
Fedora: really a resource hog, starting on disk but also memory usage.
What's your recommendation for a distro that features modern technologies but runs well on lower end hardware?

@wonshu@mastodon.social I currently run Debian & KDE on my 2011 Thinkpad, and I’ve been happy with it so far. The default Debian install is fairly minimal, and it’s ultra stable so it’s a machine I can always rely on. DE probably matters more than distro for resource usage. Modern KDE is surprisingly resource efficient while still feeling full featured. I used to prefer XFCE for lower end systems.
