Last summer I told my parents that I wanted to move in with my BF of 2 years and presented a few possible plans/timelines
It really didn't go well - my dad wasn't supportive and made that clear but was tolerant enough and level headed, my mom was extremely upset and cried over the phone which lead to me crying it was generally just not a very fun and very emotionally draining conversation
Anyways I moved in with BF 4 months ago, which was the middle date/most likely plan but they never asked any follow up and because his apartment is near my old apartment and my old roommates are still there I just kind of never told my parents and they never asked any follow up about my housing plans post master's degree or if I was still planning on moving in with BF

Anyways the lease on the old apartment is expiring soon, one of my old roommates (and good friend of both me and BF) is going to move into a spare bedrooms at BFs place and I really need to tell my parents like now and am just dreading it so much I have been dreading it all week, just tense with anxiety and I feel like I probably made the whole thing worse by putting it off/avoiding it and not confronting it sooner especially because I think really the only way to handle it at this point is to lie and tell them I am moving soon when the roommate is so they don't know I lied by ommision to them for months
