Fining agents can be either animal, carbon, or clay-based. Animal-based fining agents include gelatin, isinglass, egg white (albumen), and casein."

@PapyrusBrigade @AskPippa I always thought that isinglass was thin, transparent sheets of mica. Mainly used as windows in early (think Model T) automobiles. It was news to me that the word is also used to indicate fish glue.
