@knowprose Maybe... when the internet happened, I think it triggered a significant increase in many people's ability to think, by having better access to information and people to test their ideas with.
Seems to me like we just ditched the gatekeeper model of epistemic hygiene without adopting a similarly democratized version. Yet?

@elizayer yes. That's where I have gotten to. The 'usability vs understanding' tension seems to be a gravity well pulling us toward less cognitive friction as a society... And look at who we have steering... So I just write what I can. Hopefully the younger generations understand how to deal with the Gordian knot. 🙃
