@knowprose For me, it's less about contradicting the cold narrative with a heat narrative (which could be easy, of course, given that water boils immediately in space!). It's more about creating moments to resharpen. This might be hearing a perfect succinct argument (e.g. "thermos flask!") or it might be when we refresh and check our own thoughts. Related to the your post earlier today, writing is great for that kind of due diligence on our ideas! :-)

    @elizayer Agreed on a lot of fronts... and thanks for the kind words about what I wrote. There's another twist to this that I think you and I may be immune to. The credibility of the source. I think some people might just be outsourcing their own thoughts and opinions to people that they think are credible... and that creates a delusional loop. It makes me wonder how much of what we see is the same. Cognitive outsourcing... cognitive surrender... in the age of AI.
