I do wonder if I should even bother reporting any users on the big instances at all...
On smaller ones it makes sense cause if they don't act the instance can be blocked and it wouldn't bother most people. But you can't really block mastodon.social because you'd cut off a huge chunk of the Fediverse that would definitely be felt by many.
Sadly they seem to be also especially lax with their moderation standards.
Half of the time I'm not even sure if the user is just a bot and will come back with a new account after being banned.

@karb .social does actually terminate troll, spam, hate accounts. So I would indeed report them.

@karb meow.social, the server i use, has mastodon.social muted by default that way the spam doesn't usually become an issue, and if someone replies and is a generally decent person you can allow it
