@Tattie I think your brother summed up the core issue of most of Humanity's problems: laziness. I believe 80% of people will chose what's easy, however bad the consequences, over what's actually right.

    @aSweetGentleman but what sort of laziness are we talking about? What is easier about AI? It's certainly not faster than Google search. With Google search you got your answers faster, more reliably, and having to rephrase fewer times. But what you did have to confront after that was that there was a list of possible results, from different sites, different viewpoints. You had to confront uncertainty. AI gives the illusion of a single, simple answer to every question, without any nuance, without any dissenting opinions, without any possibility of an "actually we don't know". AI appeals to intellectual laziness. It appeals to people who don't want to learn, they just want to have An Answer, any answer, no matter where it's from or whether it's right or wrong.
