@Tattie very well said. It took me many long years to come up with a version of "at least I'm not going to feel bad about feeling bad." I would add to this that sometimes this little negging homunculus is fed from generalized as well as specific sources. General like social phobias of differences, systemic racism, homophobia, etc. I say this because while people have been nice to me I'm still a mess 😆 because I guess maybe I'm just more sensitive to the ideology so many people seem to swim through effortlessly.
