They used to do $5 plates, too, with two pieces of fish or chicken with fries, creamy coleslaw, and a few hushpuppies, with tartar sauce. I haven't been in quite some time, so that probably went away?

I haven't been there in maybe a decade if not more. My family used to buy their giant boxes of fried chicken or fish when I was a kid, never tried anything else. Checking online, that $5 plate you mentioned is now $12 at my local LJS.
