Gun culture is the source of so much suffering in America right now. Guns are now the leading cause of death for children, teens, and young adults. The surgeon general calls it an epidemic, rightly so. And it's because of guns that police feel terrified going into every encounter - which is why they feel the need to use overwhelming force, and why juries acquit them. Any suspect could be armed.
