p.s. The tag can be for simple little stuff you're doing that moment, like "I'm having a cup of tea and a nice slice of cake" or whatever. There's no pressure to post anything complex. Fun little conversations about unimportant stuff may seem trivial when you're not alone, but can be really important to someone who is isolated. Or the tag can be for expressing how you feel. @feditips@mstdn.social I’ll be working all weekend at my hospital I’m contracted at. Work nights and will be at my hotel during the day to sleep. Anyone needing a friend is welcome, especially if you’re not a festive kinda person and this time of year is hard for you. I have my own reasons for not liking this time of year but I’m a good listener

@feditips@mstdn.social The JoinIn tag is a cool idea and it made me think if Mastodon / ActivityPub could be modified to allow for a channel for a particular topic such “WorldCup” where what you post in it doesn’t go to your main feed, but just allowed you and others watching the same event to experience it in real-time with others taking about it.

@feditips@mstdn.social i dont like xmas because commercialism and atheism but i do like the lights and family time.my wifey is going to visit her family in another state for 2nd maybe 3rd time in a row....I have fish tanks and a dog so we rarely get to go together. I'm going to see my grandboys on Xmas if the weather is OK. I'll Def be Checking in...

Each Christmas I say I’ll do this simpler and each year, we all expect what we experienced growing up…that Christmas magic. So…I’ll put a Christmas movie on tonight with my feet up.
