I am having a mid-trip break in a small café near a canal in Paris. A young woman is writing down what is probably the dinner menu on a slate-like piece of blackboard; she is quick, but not in a hurry. She uses markers; sometimes they require shaking to work properly. It is alright. Another woman is sitting nearby with her laptop plugged in; she is focused on her Outlook and Excel. She wears elegant earthen-coloured clothes and her wavy hair is artistically disheveled from her passing her hand through it in deep thought. She will get there. The music is calmly cheerful and sweet. The calm is inimitable.
