We finished the edges of the webbing with an overlock stitch, then we marked out our guidelines with a chalk pen and sewed the coloured stripes on with a zigzag stitch with a very narrow stitch length.
We started with the white stripe, which was a good idea, because our guidelines didn't quite work out. So after having sewed on the first one, we didn't follow the guidelines, but rather aligned directly to the previous stripe.
And in the end we added the buttons.
