One pedal driving - where you only use the accelerator, push to go, release to stop - is, I would posit, the most radical and brilliant change to car controls since the invention of the automatic gearbox.
The only downside is, when you switch back to a "legacy" vehicle, it's deeply alarming to take your foot off the accelerator only to find that the car *doesn't*, in fact, slow down to a graceful stop.
(also, let's please normalise ICE cars as possessing "legacy engines")
