Back in the day, mages could sink the ship with the messenger on it so that the investors wouldn’t learn of the massive crop failure in the colony until April of the next year. Even magic can’t stop all bad news. Some people ignore the news, but if you ignore all bad news you’re kind of aiding and abetting phuckery.
