@calisti The epoxy was never a good protection against fire (especially not given that it was applied poorly). The only effective protection is to never put in unprotected cells. Since protected 18650's don't even fit in these holders, I see no reason to keep them. But, everyone may do with their badge as they please. However, if anyone wants want to re-apply epoxy, please don't do that inside CCH. Please go to a well-ventilated space elsewhere. I'd also suggest outside if it wasn't near freezing. But really, the epoxy was never a good idea in the first place. Just get one or two protected pouch cells instead.

    @Peetz0r Absolutely! I just really wouldn’t want people to go to congress, remove the epoxy while keeping the battery holders, and end up causing fires. How about a WHY badge rework workshop? 🙃 It’s too late to order a whole bunch of pouch cells, but a desoldering group activity should be possible 😁
