Colloqually there isn't one. They are just two interchangable words for 'bad'. In reality, they are entirely different political systems, though they have some overlapping ideas. look them up on wikipedia if you want formal definitions. Further there has never genuinely been a socialist or communist state in reality. There have been small, often isolated, communities that embody both systems though.
