FLOSS accounting systems in NZ
Hey all,
I've been thinking about moving away from Xero - partly because it doesn't quite always do what I want, but mostly because it's a cost I could do without.
Any suggestions for a self-hosted Free software option that is likely to work well in the NZ environment? Likely to be understood by my accountant?
I've been considering Odoo, but I see that it has integrated AI, which puts me off ... are there any that haven't done that and aren't planning to?
Are there other questions I should be asking?

@richardh@mastodon.nz I am still using Gnucash as a desktop app (albeit with the files kept on a server). I have been able to use its reporting function to generate extracts an accountant can use. I'm going to follow this with interest, because I foresee my financial life becoming more complicated soon. Am tempted by the various text-based bookkeeping systems out there.

@richardh@mastodon.nz I run an export from Gnucash through a program I wrote myself that does all the allocations based on floor area etc. for the home office and rental flat. That outputs a spreadsheet that the accountant appears to be able to read. One of these days this tool chain will be simpler.
