Now, to be fair, it is a pastiche, and he's a stylistic chameleon. But Airline Amy always struck me as one of Weird Al's most earnest songs. Part of it is, singing about a woman framed with her job as the focus for the story and metaphors is innately hokey, so he just let's it be hokey. https://youtu.be/fK5TiqQn7wo

  • Wait what George Wade and Dallas can harmonise? Yeah. I think it was Wade that once described the band's sound as "Catholic school girls in a knife fight". Usually George is doing the shriek, Wade a grounded growl, and Dallas croons. Here, wonderful layered vocals convey it all, and it's still undeniably The Only Band Ever, Alexisonfire.
