What the plugin allows as well is to embed polls within normal articles. This was tricky to achieve: Firstly it took a lot of thought how to make the user-journey easy and clear. And secondly in ActivityPub there is no way to properly define embedded objects. Quote posts, however, are a first step, I see them as a special case for embedded objects. The current implementation adds links to the polls within the content and adds the poll-objects as attachments as well, just like with media.
