@tojiro In CA as well, super tempted to install Solar, but I think it would require an upgrade to our electrical panel and maybe some wiring. And our roof is on the outside edge of its lifetime. What happens with Solar when you have to redo your roof?

@tojiro (PGE always tells us our household energy use is above average for the size of our house, but I don't see how that is possible. Maybe they are comparing just based on sq feet, and including newer condos/apartments?)

@ellestad @tojiro re: redoing the roof - if your roof is near the end of its lifespan, redo it first, or combine the projects (some solar installers also do roofing or vice versa). I believe asphalt roof lifespan is 25-30 years and the solar panel warranty is usually 20-25, so they line up nicely if replaced around the same time.
