what I noticed in most of the narratives about Nazi concentration camps was the gangs. Just like in prison, there are gangs, and they steal everything and they beat up the weaker people and throw them under the cattle car. Every group of people has selfish antisocial people in it, and in that situation, those type of people survived at a higher rate because they stole from everyone else. They literally got more bread into their stomach. most Generous honest, authentic people didn’t survive.
