If you have a samsung phone, download the camera assistant good lock module, go to the camera settings, set intelligent optimization to minimum, then open camera assistant, turn on 2x crop zoom, turn on prioritize focus over speed, turn on quick tap shutter, turn off auto hdr, turn off photo softening, turn off adaptive pixel and upscale zoom. and then when you take images turn on 50mp mode. this will make your phone's "auto mode" shoot more raw images so it doesn't look ai generated and waxy. It won't look nearly as sharp as with all that turned on, but it will look more natural.

I will say though if you've been shooting with 12mp, using 50mp will make the image look a lot better. 12mp mode usually looks very compressed with uneven sensor grain that gets evened out when you use the entire sensor

There are times when you would probably want to turn them on for practicality, but if you want to take real photos then that's how lol

this will also expose pretty badly how your phone sensor ACTUALLY is. some of the lower end phones have complete dogshit cameras and use AI upscaling heavily to make anything perceivable.
