People that love to say, “I only care about my family” need to remember that it takes a village to raise a child. What happens outside of your household will affect your child. Similarly, what happens in countries with lots of influence will affect yours. Such statements are statements of privilege, and people with too much privilege quite often don't care about anyone but themselves.
