@kate Thanks, I totally agree. Have you ever noticed, that post menopause women do nearly never feature in novels and movies, unless they are giving care, processing a loss, being cheated on or being diagnosed with a fatal illness? Of course, do not get me wrong, although I do agree that these stories may make great plots and literature, it's only half of the story. Therefore, I was more than pleased recently to be introduced to Iris, the seasoned political activist in Ali Smith's "Summer" who opens her house to refugees. I fell in love with her immediately. Another character who comes to my mind is Benedicta Grey, Duchess of Pardloe, Lord John Grey's mother, a spin-off character of the #outlander series by Diana Gabaldon.
