@ulf Cooking over a gas flame is great for speed and immediate controllability, but in my view the down-sides of gas in a residential environment outweigh that convenience. I wouldn't build in gas, either in a new build or as an add-on.

@MojoBob Agreed, Cooking over gas is not bad, but we replaced a gas stove with induction, and I prefer it for cooking now (plus I was paying $35 per month to have the option of using $3 of gas, which was pretty unattractive.)
