I watched the 1978s "Lord of the Rings" movie. I have to say while it, of course, can't be compared to the Peter Jackson movies who had more money, more runtime and much, much more modern technology, this one was actually better than I expected. I, personally, am not a fan of the rotoscoped live-action parts, the mix of drawn and live-action characters especially in battles feels a but uncanny, but it certainly is an interesting artistic choice. And it's not "bad" either. Considering that this movie puts two out of three books into a runtime of just about two hours, of course there's MUCH missing, but I still think the important scenes are done quite fine.
