They don't seem to have it on their calendar right now, but the Soldering for Small Electronics Repair workshop that the Ottawa Tool Library offers is so useful. It wasn't quite about repairing but more about how to rejoin wires with solder. Since taking it I have been so much more confident fixing my little wired things (mostly solar-powered string lights) to get more life out of them.

I just had a "listening" meeting and spent it happily fixing my two strands of solar mushroom lights, snipping and stripping wires, popping on heat shrink tubing, joining them together by twisting and solder, and then heat shrinking the tubing into place. Much better than my actual job.
