That we continue to let 24 Sussex languish is absurd. It's a publicly owned official residence, it's shameful that we're so reticent to spend a dime on it to make it habitable. I've been impressed with how we've been able to weathe the last year of US economic bullshit, but Canadians are still truly the cheapest/stingiest electorate in western politics

Canadians are a people who are immensely proud of the things their leaders will say at international conferences but balk at the idea that we paid for them to travel there in the first place. We'll be quick to point out how stupid it is to see the US burning all of its soft power but then insist that our official residences and guest houses crumble to the ground and if anybody needs a place to stay they can use a Holiday Inn express in Kanata
