@mcr314 There isn't really a formal process. There are groups that run courses, but there is no formal certification system. What you need to be able to do: 1/ Be a confident swimmer 2/ Know the dolphin kick 3/ Be a confident snorkeler It helps to have some experience free-diving, but not required. Everything else is breath control and practice. There may be companies in your area that recruit merfolk for public and/or private events, but that is the commercial side of things. Lastly check out Discord and your local social media for informal mermaid groups, who will be able to assist in person.
