today is the day i installed #cachyos on my main desktop pc for daily use. took me about 3 hours to get all the basic things up and running (dual boot with old windows partition, installation of basic apps, ...)
damn, it feels nice. last time I tried linux was several years ago, and I am stunned how good the experience is today!
Still not good enough to let my parents install it alone, but we're getting there! Awesome!

first game installed: minecraft with shader. runs smoothly with HDR, 4k, 144fps, shader w. RTX on - incredible. Could not have imagined that years ago!

@cmmdmx@mastodon.social Gut dann wird das auch meins 🤣 Falls du die Muse hast, bekommst du Affinity zum laufen? (gibt's inzwischen kostenlos) da eh meinen großen PC erst ändern will, werde ich es sonst spätestens dann versuchen 😬 Will auch auf lange Sicht von MS weg. Für Office habe ich OnlyOffice für mich gefunden (auch Opensource) Gaming noch auf der xbox, nächste Gen wird dann wohl eh PC wieder... Also Linux 😬 Für Android Suche ich noch eine Tastatur 🤣 aber noch nichts gefunden was ich besser als SwiftKey finde, was ja leider auch MS ist...
