@SnoopJ @cliffle @ekuber @bitprophet I have a *lot* of complaints about emoji but they're from a place of caring about text encoding, not about the space being taken up.

@timmc @SnoopJ @cliffle @bitprophet If nothing else, emoji have been instrumental in making proper international script support close to ubiquitous by forcing people who deal with text that users want to read to put in at least a half assed effort into supporting most corners of Unicode. For that reason alone I find it hard to get mad about them.
