@fesshole@mastodon.social my mother used to endlessly berate me for not getting my father a Father’s Day card. More often than not.. she used to buy one and sign it herself from me. My dad knew. One year she particularly emotionally blackmailed me into doing it and I found the volume of best dad ever cards almost nauseating. Ultimately I settled on one that said.. “wishing you a happy Father’s Day”.. I felt okay with signing that one. I don’t bother now and neither does she.
