I've always enjoyed reading people's personal stories about bottom surgery, and I suppose it's my time to give back. I'm currently pursuing it in the Netherlands, and I'll use this thread to document the journey.
The journey so far: I arrived in the Netherlands 1.5 years on HRT, and after finding a doctor to write me prescriptions for that I told him that I want bottom surgery. He informed me that I first need to see a psychiatrist, and recommended a practice.
After 11 months sitting on their wait-list, my intake appointment with the psychiatrist is next week! :neocat_cute:

I don't know what to expect from this psychiatrist. The practice specializes in trans people, but they act as a gatekeeper here, so maybe they'll have some weird pathologizing ideas I'll need to navigate? Like, how does one even determine if someone should get bottom surgery? This'll be my first time interacting with something other than informed consent in my transition, and I'm a little nervous about that.
