A couple weeks ago I had an appointment on "psychosexual development" which included delightful questions such as "when did you start masturbating" and "do you penetrate your wife during sex". These are totally things that are easy to talk with a stranger about and medically necessary to go over /s Today we had an "evaluation" which was just an appointment to go over what we've covered so far, which imo is a complete waste of time. Oh and I now have more appointments scheduled with them through the end of October, which is far longer than I thought I'd have to put up with this. I was also told to expect the waiting times I see on Radboud's website (the hospital) to be longer than the website claims. I'm growing really frustrated at how long, invasive, and degrading this whole process is. This isn't an acceptable thing to put people through, especially when countries where informed consent is widespread still have regret rates at or under 1% for transfem vaginoplasty operations. I now have a free consultation scheduled with a surgeon in Barcelona in October, who doesn't require any of this bullshit and could schedule me for early next year. The only downside is I'd need to find 20,000 euros for him. I've got a 401k in the US I've been meaning to empty (since I'm never moving back there), but I'll need to start saving pretty aggressively if I want to go that route. In the meantime, my next appointment with the gatekeeper here is next week, where we'll continue psychosexual development and maybe start talking about "resilience"

I had another appointment yesterday, in which we finished up with "psychosexual development" and went over "resilience" as well. And with that, I have in theory finished everything necessary for this report. The person I've been working with will check things over with her boss, and if they don't find any gaps the evaluation process is complete. Next up: I will meet with a sexologist and then the actual licensed psychiatrist at this practice. The former will hopefully be scheduled in September, and the latter is scheduled for late October.
