Chevron's GM Kynan Scarr says: "Across both facilities [at the Gorgon and Wheatstone projects] we're paying around $1.8 billion a year to operate and maintain these facilities." He should have gone on to say that all this is reimbursed by the price they charge their customers for the gas and that their taxes are based on profits, not the amount of the running costs.
