@mei you probably gotta phrase it different but they're letting my motivation section of my masters basically be "i wish i was a dog or something irl" so i don't see why not

@mei@donotsta.re Is this for official publication, or personal? Even if it's really good research, if this is for official stuff, then obviously not. But! I think pure math could use some more fun. For example: Gallian's Modern Abstract Algebra is very tongue in cheek. He manages to say, "yo I'm REALLY autistic about this stuff!" in a pretty academic way; he'll display an Eulerian proof with a ton of excitement oozing out of the page. And he gets more informal in the liner notes, where he does like bios on different mathematicians and stuff. So, depends on the situation? I definitely think we could use more math text in general that avoids formalism for the sake of itself. But math is all about boiling down things to their bare essentials and conserving ink as much as possible... so, idk.
