Is there anything more insidious than a DID faker in the world of disorder tiktokers? I don't talk about it often because it's not my business, but I have a longtime and very dear friend who I've known from long before diagnosis through the diagnosis process, and well into their treatment years. The misinformation and quirkification of such a serious trauma response makes me sick with fury. Your self-insert pick-me fanfic bullshit has no right to claim a trauma disorder. Go to hell, tbh

I'm so heartsick when I listen to them talk about meeting a "system," and realizing they're some fucker on the internet who watched Silence of the Lambs or American Psycho or Split and thought uwu I could do that, too, with literally no history of trauma, no understanding of what DID is, and no interest in seeking help. Years of their life have been either desperate confusion at symptoms and feeling crazy, or spent doing intensive therapy to try and overcome a deepset trauma response.
