Racial and religious harmony must be the bedrock of societies with a diversity of racial and religious groups. Singapore leads the way in this, and is a model of how to set up for and navigate the ongoing challenges of maintaining this. In comparison, Sri Lanka has over the years struggled with this. Recently though, a recalcitrant (repeat offender) Buddhist monk that had repeatedly incited religious hatred in Sri Lanka, was sentenced to imprisonment.
