Small update on a huge big fat upcoming update: The new OpenType and text shaping support is almost ready to be released. I'm ironing out some wrinkles in advanced GPOS support, but overall this is working very well, and I am extremely excited to put this out soon. Ongoing kudos to @khaled for contributing essential functionality and providing test cases and domain expertise.
