Tired: Laser Wired: Broadband Say what? Some #marketing genius decided that "laser" is either tired or has a negative connotation so they scoured the universe for a replacement word to invigorate their product. I give you "Broadband Light Therapy" to reverse signs of ageing and improve your complexion. Yeah, nah. I have no idea who the target market is either, but do be sure to ask your ISP whether they offer similar benefits.

@markd@hachyderm.io I'm only somewhat familiar with this tech specifically, but if the light isn't coherent then isn't it not a laser? I think this uses a bunch of different tuned wavelengths rather than 1.

@markd@hachyderm.io I believe there is some confusion here. Broadband light therapy uses IPL - intense pulsed light and not lasers. A bit like home IPL does at the moment for hair removal. The problem seems to be that many people who write about IPL do not understand what a laser is and use the term incorrectly. So the manufacturer is, I believe, correct in calling it BB light therapy.
