A popular Bulgarian restaurant chain apparently deployed facial recognition and "smile ranking" for its waiters. There's no note of this in the chain's site and nothing in the locations mentions that this is happening (that violates several EU laws). The only reason this came out is because the company that provides the services fucked up and bragged about it on their page (internet archive link in the consumerrights.wiki post below). Obviously saying this is just for the waiters is utter BS, first because that's not how any of this tech can work, but even more so considering there's a screenshot on their announcement page for it that shows the system keeping information for customers as well. https://consumerrights.wiki/w/Happy_Bar_%26_Grill_Biometric_Surveillance
