I suspect they believed so profoundly in its capacity to replace people they thought that would be case closed before the pricing rug pull had to happen. They were incorrect!

The wilful ignorance to think this would be enough time to make that case even if it were possibly true is wild tbh, it takes many years to introduce such a profound change. Separate from the fact that it was based on a misunderstanding of what software engineering is..
