*slightly political stream of consciousness, please ignore if it’s not your thing* .
There’s been a lot of information on boat movements around the UK made public recently.
A lot of sabre rattling and manufactured outrage by the usual useful idiots, but the analogy I have is this:
You have two small children in a class of ten.
One is obviously vying for attention by misbehaving because ANY attention = good attention.
The other is simply watching the noisier child, waiting for the moment and observing whether the noisier child will hit someone.
Here’s where politicians perform in exactly the same way as 3 to 5 year olds, just with bigger toys.
The noiser, either neglected or spoiled one will elevate behaviour to see if the other quieter children will hit them first. Then scream that they’re being bullied if that occurs. This is known, learned behaviour.
Supposed adults behaving in this manner is a sign of never learning boundaries or arrested development.
However, observable interaction doesn’t make someone weak, it’s intelligence gathering.
Proof of a pattern of behaviour, before action of any kind. Sometimes it’s background information, sometimes obvious - but always a clear marker that there’s some sort of issue.
That’s where we are - that pattern, observe, intelligence gather and make sure no blame is assigned if action is required.
