If you think empathy is only deserved for people you agree with, I question if you understand what empathy is? Did you choose every moment that has shaped you? Did you choose your genetics. Your parents? Did you choose how you were raised and the comfort you were denied or given? You can hold those who do wrong accountable and still have empathy for them. All of our choices are the results of unseen causes and conditions. Once you understand this, empathy becomes unburdened.
