@dedicto @Remittancegirl @ApostateEnglishman I wasn't aware this was a nursery rhyme. I learned the story from watching "I Clavdivs" in the late 1970s - it's a cautionary tale told by Herod to Claudius (Clavdivs, per the title sequence). So I'm guessing - it goes all the way back to Aesop?
