It doesn't work because it's made of aluminium, induction works through magnetism and aluminium isn't magnetic.
And I'm not buying them a $400 Le Creuset pancake pan because I'm a cheap bastard who doesn't love his child sufficiently.
(I may get them a $40 induction-compatible crepe pan because they're really not bad for a 14yo, and sometimes they bring me pancakes in bed.)

@thomasbeagle@mastodon.nz @libroraptor@mastodon.nz Aren't there converter plates for this situation? We will need to move to induction sooner rather later and I recall reading about these.
