The difference between Aqua Teen Hunger Force / Xavier Renegade Angel and modern "adult animated shows" lies in the fact that other series take the safe edgy route like South Park, where they make a racist joke and then spend three minutes lecturing the audience about it. In contrast, ATHF and XRA deliver a barrage of racist and offensive jokes, refuse to elaborate further and simply move on with the episode.
